Important Notification
Regarding Restaurant.com Gift Certificates:
_____________________________________________________________________________
The Gloucester House
was formerly a subscriber to Restaurant.com, an online
website which provided targeted exposure and marketing
tools for local businesses while simultaneously offering
gift certificates to the public.
It has recently come to
our attention, however, that the terms set forth by this
company in regard to said gift certificates were not
only ultimately dissatisfying to the patrons holding
them, but were misleading, convoluted, and near
certainly resulted in unpleasant experiences for all
involved parties. Minimum bill amounts, un-disclosed
terms when given as a gift or otherwise purchased,
restrictions regarding specific menu items, limitations
of use per visit, per month, etc. were often upsetting
to our guests.
In light of this, the
Gloucester House is no longer a member of Restaurant.com
and is thus not recognizing any Restaurant.com-issued
gift certificate. As listed in the
Restaurant.com terms here, "the issuing of
restaurant credit is at the sole discretion of the
restaurant" and "certificates do not provide
customers with an absolute right to redeem a certificate
for its full value."
The Linquata family -- as
owners of the Gloucester House for over fifty years --
strongly feel that this is in the best interest of our
patron's expectations and satisfaction, as well as of
our business. Should you have questions or concerns
regarding this, please feel free to contact us.
